Old Mout FAQs

It all started on a cycling trip to England when Wanda Tait sampled the local Scrumpy and her taste buds fell in love. On her return to Nelson she set up the cidery in a shed, and Old Mout was born. And ever since then people have been mispronouncing our name.

Justin & Scottie, two pioneering young fellows with a passion for cider and giving new ideas a go then took over. The adventurous duo who were inspired by amazing island fruits developed a range of award winning flavours in New Zealand. New Old Mout fruit cider combinations are now available to enjoy in the UK.

Our national icon - the quirky kiwi bird. When we found out that up to 200 species go extinct every day and that the kiwi could be next, we decided to help the little fellas out! We’re on a mission to spread the word and make a difference. Find out more about how we are helping to save the kiwi.

Old Mout is best enjoyed chilled over ice with fruit: Kiwi & Lime is served with a wedge of lime, Pineapple & Raspberry is served chilled with ice and a slice of Pineapple, Strawberry & Pomegranate is served with strawberries and Berries & Cherries is served with strawberries & blueberries.

It can take up to 5 weeks to make Old Mout, we make sure that each bottle gets our Kiwi bird seal of approval. 

We do no use any artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners in our ciders.

Old Mout should be stored in a clean, dry and well ventilated place. It is best served chilled, around 5°C is ideal. So pop it in the nearest fridge but just make sure you don’t freeze it.

Much to the delight of our kiwi bird, we do not test any of our products on animals.

No, we do not use genetically modified ingredients in any of our products. 

We don’t recommend drinking Old Mout after its “best before” date as it might not deliver our exotic fruit flavours at their best.

Old Mout ciders do not contain any animal derived products and are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Berries & Cherries 0.0 is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Yes is gluten free, all of our ciders are made from ingredients which do not contain gluten.

There are no nuts used in the production of Old Mout Cider.

All Old Mout Ciders are 4% ABV which is 2.0 UK alcohol units. Our alcohol free variety contains less than 0.05% vol.

Old Mout 0.0 is currently available in Berries & Cherries.

Old Mout is available in over 6000 pubs and bars in the UK. The kiwi has also landed at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-op and convenience stores nationwide. You can get online delivery too. For more information get in touch with our consumer care team: consumercare@oldmoutcider.co.uk
