Help hatch a kiwi
Only 1 in 20
kiwi survive to adulthood, so we hatched a plan to help the little fellas out
As New Zealanders we want to keep nature at its inspiring best. It’s the playground for all our adventures, it inspires the delicious ingredients in our ciders, and it’s home to our much loved kiwi bird! So when we heard that the kiwi bird population had decreased by 99%, over the last 80 years, we hatched a plan to help the little fellas out!
We’ve teamed up with , a charity creating safe habitats for the birds to grow and thrive. With their support the chances of a chick surviving to adulthood increases dramatically, from 1 in 20, to 13 in 20. Each kiwi saved could live up to 50 years and lay as many as 100 eggs – just imagine the impact that will have on the endangered population!
Now every time you crack open an Old Mout, you’re helping hatch more kiwi. Cheers to that!
